About C.L.A.S.S.

Each GBC employee — including faculty, staff, student leaders, and student workers — can make C.L.A.S.S. awards for outstanding service above and beyond the normal job duties.

There will be a monthly rotation so that each area will have a scheduled month where an employee from that area will be recognized. However, nominations will be accepted throughout the year. Each nomination will be reviewed by the appropriate administrator to ensure the nomination is for outstanding service above and beyond the normal job duties.

Awardees will be entered into a drawing to be held the first Friday of the first full business week of the following calendar month. One prize will be given per drawing/month.

Printed awards will be displayed for one month in Berg Hall and then returned to recipients for them to keep.

This page will be updated with most recent awards.

C.L.A.S.S. Awards for the month of December, 2011
Wil Becker Photo Wil Becker for outstanding service on 12/1/2011
Awarder Ami Rogers’s comments: "Wil took on extra duties in the interim between Charlene Mitchel's retirement and the hiring of the new Center Coordinator. Wil took the initiative to become very familiar with PeopleSoft from a student and staff perspective making him a wonderful resource to students with questions. He trained the Center Coordinator in PeopleSoft. He routinely goes above and beyond to assist students with PeopleSoft and WebCampus issues. He also holds a live WebCampus training for students at the beginning of each semester. He is Battle Mountain's SME (Subject Matter Expert)."

Jolina Adams Photo Jolina Adams for outstanding service on 12/16/2011
Awarder Heather McCoy’s comments: Jolina voluntarily did academic advising while I was away from the office on sick leave. She realized that without an advisor helping students that there would be a delay for students getting registered if they had to wait for my return. She did a fantastic job getting students ready for the next semester while still completing her own workload.
