This arm of the Campaign will contribute laboratories, classrooms
and the state-of-the-art Academic Success Center in the Electrical and Industrial Technology Building. It will enhance the opportunities for students in
Career and Technical Education and University Transfer areas, as well as create the skills for a
sustainable rural economy. We are currently only $46,000 short of our $500,000 goal and need your help! This project came to life as the result of partnerships across the state. In 2005, the legislature allocated $14.6 million toward the $15.1 million project and charged the Board of Trustees of GBC Foundation with the task of raising $500,000 as a match. We have raised nearly $460,000 towards our $500,000 goal. Barrick Gold of North America, Inc. and Newmont Mining Corporation, leaders in the mining industry, formed an unprecedented partnership in supporting Great Basin College Foundation, committing a total of $200,000 to the building of the College’s Electrical and Industrial Technology (EIT) Building. At that time we invited community members and vendors whose businesses support the mining industry to join our effort. Please see our list of generous donors to this project. We understand the importance of the applied career and technical education training taking place at Great Basin College. The EIT Building will support that mission and that of many local industries by supplying well-trained and conscientious employees. Please feel free to check out our Case for Support. We invite you to join forces with us as we fulfill our promise of providing higher education for rural Nevada. If you are ready to get involved now, please call the Great Basin College Foundation today at 775.753.2246 to express your support for the Electrical and Industrial Technology Building. We accept most major credit cards, and our staff can answer any questions you may have and will describe the many recognition opportunities available to your business.Join us as we build a stronger Great Basin College and a more productive future for rural Nevadans.
