Great Basin College enriches people's lives by providing student-centered, post-secondary education to rural Nevada. Educational, cultural, and related economic needs of the multicounty service area are met through programs of university transfer, applied science and technology, business and industry partnerships, developmental education, community service, and student support services in conjunction with certificates and associate and select baccalaureate degrees.
GBC is a comprehensive community college that provides educational opportunities to over 3,800 students across 86,500 square miles, in ten of Nevada's largest counties bordering five states. The main campus in Elko is home to an educational community that attracts students interested in a residential college experience. Satellite facilities are located in over a dozen communities across the college's service area.

2. Pull your degree audit What-If (WHIF) Report. This report displays the requirements you still need to complete. For instructions, go to GBC Degree Audit Report.
If you are a Financial Aid recipient, you are not eligible to receive financial aid for classes not included in your degree plan. Meet with your academic advisor before registering for classes.
All students enrolled in 6 credits or more are also encouraged to apply for unclaimed scholarships for the Spring 2017 semester, by filling out the Re-Award Application at www.gbcnv.edu/financial. The application deadline for the Re-Award Scholarships is January 27, 2017.
Students can also now apply for the 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov. The GBC School Code is: 006977. Be sure to have your 2015 Federal Income Tax handy when filling out the FAFSA.
All students who have filled out the FAFSA are also encouraged to apply for GBC’s Annual Scholarships, which are available at www.gbcnv.edu/financial.
The application deadline for both the FAFSA and the GBC Annual Scholarship is March 10, 2017.
