GBC Announces Auditions for Camelot!

2015 Camelot Auditions graphicGreat Basin College Theatre Program will hold auditions for Lerner and Lowe’s Camelot, Wednesday and Thursday, December 16 and 17, at 7 PM, in the Great Basin College Theatre.

Interested students and community members, aged 16 and older, should be prepared with a one minute musical piece of their choice, and a 1 minute comic monologue. Those auditioning may also be asked to read and sing from the script. An accompanist will be provided.

Camelot is the story of the marriage of England’s King Arthur to Guinevere. The story takes place in the charmed land of Camelot. A plot by the illegitimate Mordred to usurp the throne, and Guinevere’s growing attachment to Sir Lancelot, threaten the peace of Camelot and the strength of King Arthur’s Round Table.

The play will be directed by GBC’s John Patrick Rice. Gail Mierins is the vocal director, and Walt Lovell serves as music director, conducting a live orchestra.

Rehearsals will begin in early January, 2016, with the production playing March 15-19, 2016.
