The state-of-the-art radiographic digital lab allows for x-rays to be taken and reviewed digitally. As a result, the program will no longer need to use film imaging. Images can be viewed on a wireless devices and computers.
Advantages of this technology include time efficiency and an archiving and communication system that is easily accessible by heath care professionals. The grant also paid for a new controller’s room and general remodeling.
The new devices allow students to go from a classroom setting to a clinical setting, using the same equipment,” said Mary Doucette, Radiology Technology Program Director. “It’s going to be a smooth transition for our students.”
The 2016 AAS radiology technology graduating class achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) National Boards as well as 100 percent job placement rate.
The AAS degree is a 22-month program. Students apply to the program in June and begin classes in August, and graduate in 2 years in May.
