Great Basin College enriches people's lives by providing student-centered, post-secondary education to rural Nevada. Educational, cultural, and related economic needs of the multicounty service area are met through programs of university transfer, applied science and technology, business and industry partnerships, developmental education, community service, and student support services in conjunction with certificates and associate and select baccalaureate degrees.
GBC is a comprehensive community college that provides educational opportunities to over 3,800 students across 86,500 square miles, in ten of Nevada's largest counties bordering five states. The main campus in Elko is home to an educational community that attracts students interested in a residential college experience. What: Public Meeting to get responses to the question: "What do women need to successfully join the workforce and take care of their families?" A motivational presentation will be given by Elko Family Resource Center Executive Director Judy Andreson, on how to get out of our own way to achieve our goals!
Why: Responses will be used to prepare a report to help Legislators know what they can do to best help Nevada women succeed.
When: Friday, Nov. 4 at 9:30 a.m.

Who: People from businesses, social services, education, or personal experience who have information and ideas about how to help women successfully join the workforce and take care of their families.
Bring your ideas in writing as testimony to submit to the Commission for Women the day of the public meeting.
