About the Program

The Alternative Route to Licensure Program (ARL) at GBC enables students who have completed an undergraduate degree in a field other than secondary education to become eligible for licensure to teach in Nevada. GBC currently offers programs in mathematics, science, social science, English, career and technical education, and business education.

In order to apply to the program, a student must have already completed a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution.

The Teacher Education Department Handbook includes the application form. It also includes the expectations by which each student will be evaluated once admitted to the program. To complete the program as efficiently as possible, it is imperative that students seek advising from education department personnel upon acceptance into the program.

To register for the Praxis exams, please contact Ping Wang at 753-2144, she will assist you with dates and times, etc.
