Annual Self-Evaluation Criteria

 

     Satisfactory: Professional conduct complies with all sections of NSHE code and policies applicable to                 faculty and meets primary job responsibilities applicable to faculty.

     Commendable is earned by choosing 2 activities related to Teaching Activities, 1 related to the Collegial/Professional Activities and 1 related to Community Service.  Commendable is dependent on completion of Satisfactory. 

     Excellence is earned by choosing 2 more activities and an additional Community Service. Excellent is dependent on the successful completion of Commendable.

a. Meet classes.

A. Create a new course and follow the articulation process.

1. Mentor a new or adjunct instructor.

b. Hold office hours (min. 5 hours per week).

B. Teach on extended schedule based on program need.

2. Observe other faculty teach.      Complete observation form.

c. Submit comprehensive course syllabi to department office in a timely manner.

C. Teach an in-service workshop or seminar.

3. Chair a Faculty Senate Committee.

d. Be available for advising as necessary.

D. Improve an existing class by refocusing content, assignments or converting to on-line format.

4. Serve as Faculty Senate Chair.

e. Submit book order/information in a timely manner.

E. Teach summer classes and/or programs.

5. Serve as a voting Faculty Senator.

f. Attend department meetings.

F. Volunteer time in the Academic Success Center as a tutor or tutor mentor.

6. Represent the college in community service.

g. Respond to Dean/Chair requests in a timely manner.

G. Conduct a classroom presentation “outside” of discipline.

7. Represent the college on a state-wide level.

h. Participate in one Faculty Senate Committee.

H. Attend professional development conferences or related activities and submit a report.

8. Serve as Department Chair.

i. Submit annual goals/ objectives in a timely manner.

I. Maintain membership in discipline.

9. Submit application for a project to President’s Council or direct pilot program.

j. Complete a written reflection

of student evaluations.

J. Receive satisfactory classroom or lab/peer observation and conference.
