Catalog Description: A beginning course for those with no previous spreadsheet knowledge. The course will be an introduction to Microsoft Excel.
Course Description: This is a beginning course for those students with no previous spreadsheet knowledge. It is an introduction to Microsoft Excel 2002. There is no prerequisite for this course.
Learner Outcomes: Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
Create a spreadsheet
Understand the difference between a toolbar and formula bar
Open, close and save a spreadsheet
Be able to differentiate between labels, values, formulas and functions
Insert rows and columns in a spreadsheet
Use the Auto Sum button
Construct formulas to produce desired calculations
Learn how to customize the printed spreadsheet
Plan, construct and edit charts
Method of Instruction: This class is taught by illustration from the instructor, working together on examples, and in class assignments.
Grading: This course is a Pass/Withdraw class. To receive a Pass the student must participate in at least four of the class assignments.
Attendance: Attendance is very important in a class like this with only 6 sessions. If you have questions please ask – someone else probably has the same question but is afraid to speak up.
