The Tech Prep program allows high school juniors and seniors to earn GBC college
credits for completing specific high school courses. Up to 21 college credits may be earned
for CTE (Career & Technical Education) courses in which an A or B grade is earned.

Application Process
Note: You must be a
Junior or Senior when you take a Tech Prep class, unless the classes are a sequence
(e.g., the sequencee of Welding I, II, and III, in which case you must take at
least one of the classes as a junior or senior.
Step 1: Complete and submit the online GBC Application for Admission.
Step 2: Complete the online Tech Prep Application. Print the web page you see after you submit the online form, and sign it.
Step 3: Return the printed and signed Tech Prep Application to a CTE teacher or a counselor or to the address below or mail them to:

Step 4: To receive your credits you must earn an "A" or "B" in
your Tech Prep class. To receive your Tech Prep credits at the end of the school year, after
you receive your grades, you will need to pay GBC New Student fee of $10.* You can pay in person
at a GBC Campus, online at the MyGBC Self-Service Center (after signing in, click on "Registration"),
or by mailing a check to:

*To receive a copyof your GBC transcript for transfer to another institution, if you have not previously enrolled in GBC courses and will not attend GBC in the fall, you must pay the $10 new student fee and complete a transcript request to receive a copy. Students planning on attending GBC do not need to pay the $10 new student fee, as it will be added into the first semester tuition.
