Government Documents - GBC Library Services

Government information is available to everyone: -
faculty, college students and members of the community.  A person does not have to be a GBC student to borrow or interlibrary loan a document.

General

  • All Government Documents can be checked out.  Many of the documents are bar-coded, but if they are not you can still borrow them.  Bring the document to the Circulation Desk and someone will help you.

  • Special arrangements must be made for CD’s. The Reference or Documents librarian will load the CD’s on one of the computers.

  • The microfiche needs to be used in the library, as it requires microfiche readers to be read.

Government Document Interlibrary Loans

  • Any document that we do not have can be interlibrary loaned from the UNR Business and Government Information Center if it is in the online catalog.

        How To

  • Once you find the document in the Online Catalog, print out the document information and bring this to the Circulation Desk where someone will help you;

  • Note: If the item is checked out it cannot be borrowed.

  •  A fax copy can be ordered if the item is not over 10 pages long.

  • If the document is longer than 10 pages it will have to be mailed to GBC; it may take several days to arrive - up to a week depending on the mails and processing delays at the originating library.
