Isabel Bishop Timeline
Isabel Bishop did her favorite work and probably her best during the Great Depression. She did sketches and drawings of the People of the Union Square, where she was living at the time. She liked to draw the hobos and bums, she thought they had style. She also drew people just off the street, she would ask waitress and students to be models for her. She liked to use regular people not paid models for her work. The Great Depression is when the stockmarket crashed and everyone went broke and the economy of America was in big trouble. Everyone was trying to scrimp and save every penny they had because money was so scarce. There was no work because noone could afford to pay employees and that is why there were so many hobos and bums.
