What is Praxeology.Connection?

  • Praxeology.Connection is an outreach program of Dr. Glen Tenney in the department of economics at Great Basin College, focusing on individualized online tutoring in economics. The tutoring is provided as a “labor of love” by Dr. Tenney who envisions the Praxeology.Connection program as simply an opportunity to assist people—apart from his regular employment responsibilities at Great Basin College in Nevada—in understanding the beauty and usefulness of the economic way of thinking. The tutoring is completely free of charge—and there are no strings attached.

Who Does the Tutoring?

  • The tutoring services are provided by Glen Tenney, PhD, who is a long-time Professor of Economics at Great Basin College, the sprawling rural college spanning nearly the whole state of Nevada. Dr. Tenney also teaches at TUI University, a fully accredited online university based in Cypress California.

  • Dr. Tenney’s specific areas of interest include (1) the ethical framework of market economies, (2) anarcho-capitalism, (3) the economics of poverty, (4) Austrian School economics, and (5) Public Choice economics. Dr. Tenney makes no claim to being a serious “mover or shaker” (or one of the “noble and great ones”) in any area of economic reasoning. He is, however, quite content with the fact that he has successfully helped hundreds of serious students gain a greater understanding of important economic insights over his many years of teaching and tutoring.

How Does the Praxeology.Connection Program Work?

  • Students simply email Dr. Tenney at glent@gwmail.gbcnv.edu with questions or problems regarding economic principles or theories, and those concerns are discussed and/or answered individually via return email. Because Dr. Tenney checks his email continuously almost every day, students will usually get a response in minutes. Follow up correspondence, via email, can then be continued as much as the parties desire.

  • In addition to direct email correspondence, Dr. Tenney also has several PowerPoint presentations, customized links to articles, and other helps on a wide variety of topics that he often provides to interested students free of charge.
