Dual Enrollment Fees and Tuition Supported

High school students for the Spring of 2018 in Elko, Humboldt, Lander, Lincoln, Mineral, Nye, Pershing and White Pine counties qualify

Dual Enrollment Fees and Tuition Supported graphic.Great Basin College recently received a College and Career Readiness Grant for $275,000 from the Nevada Department of Education to increase access to dual enrollment courses for underserved high school student populations by providing tuition, fees and textbooks.

GBC already offers a 50 percent reduced rate for tuition and fees, excluding CNA and paramedic courses, for all current dual enrollment students.

Coupled with the already 50 percent reduced rate for high school students, GBC anticipates the grant funds will cover all or most expenses for dual enrollment students.

All students interested in dual enrollment classes for the spring 2018 semester should fill out the College and Career Readiness Grant form and turn it in to the GBC Admission and Records office by January 8, 2018.

High school students are encouraged to discuss their intention with their high school counselor before registering for dual enrollment courses.

Students will be categorized in three tiers determined by high school counselors with Tier 1 receiving first consideration for use of funds followed by Tier 1 and Tier 3.

GBC offers course delivery options including live classroom, interactive video, and online. Dual enrollment students can enroll in courses for which they meet the prerequisites, most of which are 100-299 level courses.
