Great Basin College Theatre Students Work with Emmy Winning Puppeteer

Great Basin College Theatre Students Work with Emmy Winning Puppeteer graphic.Great Basin College Theatre Program students participated in a puppet workshop with Emmy Award winner Michael Shupbach in Tuscarora.

Schupbach, who has designed, created and operated puppets for Broadway and television, including Sesame Street and AVENUE Q, led the GBC students in the creation of puppets for their upcoming production of SHE KILLS MONSTERS.

Schupbach has been a part time resident of Tuscarora, along with his parents, for many summers. The students created prototypes of puppets for SHE KILLS MONSTERS using butcher paper, tape and found items. The students were taught to create anatomical figures and to manipulate them in realistic ways. Many of the creations required multiple operators.

Students will use their newly acquired skills in the GBC Theatre Program production of SHE KILLS MONSTERS, opening October 16 and running through the 20th.
