Sandvik Donates Loader to GBC Diesel Program

Sandvik Donates Loader to GBC Diesel Program graphic.Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology recently donated a Sandvik Toro 1250 loader to the Great Basin College Diesel Technology Program.

The loader will be an addition to the program’s equipment used for instruction.

Sandvik is also one of several industrial partners a part of the Maintenance Training Cooperative, sponsoring student interns while they complete an associate degree or certificate program at GBC.

“Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is pleased to donate the Sandvik Toro 1250 loader to Great Basin College for educational purposes, troubleshooting defects and general maintenance training purposes,” said Sandvik National Operations Manager, Part and Services Ben Stacy. “We are also proud to work with Great Basin College by providing scholarships to individuals for them to pursue their dreams through the MTC program.”

Additionally, Elevation Transport donated the transportation of the loader to the GBC Elko campus.

“GBC greatly appreciates Sandvik’s continued support of our diesel program, and Elevation Transport’s assistance in transporting the loader,” said GBC Dean of Business and Technology Bret Murphy. “The donation increases the students’ knowledge of various equipment they can expect to work on once they enter the workforce.”
