Financing Your Academic Goals

An education at Great Basin College is one of the most potentially rewarding investments you may make in your lifetime, and it can be more affordable than you imagine.

GBC has many resources to assist you in funding your studies. The most desirable forms of financial aid for students are scholarships and federal grants, which do not need to be repaid. Another option is a federal student loan, which will need to be repaid with interest. Veterans may be entitled to additional benefits. To get started, click the menu items at left under Applying for Financial Aid.

If you receive financial aid at GBC, you will need to maintain Satisfactory Progress during the course of your studies. Be sure to familiarize yourself with these academic standards.

In addition, GBC's Career Center can assist you in finding a regular job in the community and provides an online list of jobs currently open for GBC students.

ALERT 2016-17 Student Loan Request Form

Feb. 3-Apr. 3 Kenny C. Guinn Memorial Scholarship
$4500--Must currently be an eligible Millennium Scholar, College senior or last year of college with 90 or more credits at an eligible institution, enrolled in a course of study leading to licensure in elementary or secondary education, maintain gpa of 3.5 on 4.0 gpa scale, state a commitment to teaching in Nevada upon graduation, and have a commendable record of community service.
