The Learning Commons, located inside the Library in McMullen Hall, is your go-to destination for academic support, studying, and testing at Great Basin College. Whether you need help with a challenging assignment, a quiet place to focus, or a welcoming space to connect with classmates, we're here to help.

We offer free tutoring for all GBC students, including in-person Math and English tutors, as well as 24/7 online tutoring through Brainfuse in a wide range of subjects. Our staff is ready to answer questions, connect you with resources, and help you develop the skills and confidence you need to succeed.

The Learning Commons also serves as GBC's Testing Center, providing a secure and supportive environment for placement exams, proctored exams at each of our campuses (including through Zoom for students who live far from a GBC campus), accommodated testing, and other approved testing services. Our staff will guide you through the testing process and help ensure you have everything you need for a smooth experience.

Our flexible study space is designed to meet a variety of learning styles. Settle into a private study cubicle, collaborate with classmates at our movable tables, or simply enjoy a comfortable place to study.

Most importantly, you don't have to navigate college on your own. Whether you stop by with a quick question or spend an afternoon studying, you'll find knowledgeable staff and fellow students who are ready to support your success.
