SKILLS
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice or a closely related field, or Associate's Degree with two years of full-time paid experience, or High school diploma with four years of full-time paid experience.
Position Requirements:
- Full-time position with on-call responsibilities
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must pass a drug test, medical examination, psychological evaluation, lie detector test, and background check
- Valid Nevada State driver's license
Ability to possess or currently possess Peace Officer Standard Training (P.O.S.T.), Category I or II
DUTIES
- Monitor and supervise juveniles on probation and youth on caseload under the supervision of the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer
- Enforce court-ordered conditions for juvenile offenders
- Provide direct field supervision, including home and school visits
- Conduct weapons and contraband searches, and administer drug testing
- Oversee the welfare and conduct of juveniles on probation
- Review police reports related to juvenile cases
- Investigate cases and provide recommendations on disposition to the Court
- Represent and protect the best interest of the child pursuant to 432B
- Meet with children in their current environment to ensure their safety and determine their best interests
- Supervise visitation between children and their parents
- Perform any other related duties as required
