Land Surveying and Geomatics

Turn your interest in technology, mapping, and the outdoors into a rewarding career. Great
Basin College's Land Surveying and Geomatics program prepares students to work with
advanced technologies used to measure, map, and manage the world around us. Students learn
surveying principles, GPS/GNSS technology, GIS mapping, data collection, and geospatial
analysis used in industries such as mining, construction, engineering, transportation, and land
development.

Students may begin with the Associate of Science (AS) in Land Surveying and Geomatics, which
prepares graduates for entry-level positions in surveying, mapping, civil engineering, resource
management, mining, and government agencies. The AS degree also provides a seamless
pathway into the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Land Surveying and Geomatics, where
students develop advanced technical and professional skills for career advancement in the
surveying and geospatial industries.

The program is offered 100% online, providing flexibility for both traditional students and
working professionals throughout Nevada and beyond. Graduates are prepared for careers in
land surveying, geomatics, engineering support, mining, land development, government
agencies, and other geospatial technology fields.
