As a student registered for class or an employee of Great Basin College, you are hereby notified that this College does comply with the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act, effective October 27, 2002.
Section 1601 of Public Law 106-386 requires sex offenders (anyone required to register as a sex offender pursuant to state law) to provide notice to each institution of higher education at which the person is employed, carries on a vocation, or is a student and to provide notice about each change in enrollment or employment status of such person at an institution of higher education in the state of Nevada.
Offenders who are students or workers (as defined by NRS 179D.110 and 179D.120) and all offenders who are present for 48 hours or more on any Great Basin College campus (pursuant to requirements of NRS 179D) must register with your local sheriff/police. The offender must also notify the Director of Environmental Health, Safety and Security by telephone at 775-753-2115 or by e-mail at patricia.anderson@gbcnv.edu. They may also contact the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Title IX Coordinator at 775-753-2282 or by e-mail at lynn.mahlberg@gbcnv.edu.
