Program Overview

Certificate of Achievement - General Studies

The General Studies Certificate provides high school students with the opportunity to complete 30–31 credits of general education coursework prior to high school graduation. These courses align most closely with an Associate of Arts degree pathway. This certificate pathway provides:

  • A clear dual-credit pathway for students and high school counselors.
  • Opportunities for students to develop accountability and independence.
  • Documentation of academic milestones.
  • Preparation for the rigor of college-level coursework.
  • A connection and pathway for students to seek academic support.
  • Continued collaboration and connections between GBC and Nevada high schools.
  • Approximately one year of coursework applicable toward an associate degree.
