A A - Associate of Arts
Program Overview
Associate of Arts
The Associate of Arts (AA) degree is designed for students planning to pursue a traditional liberal arts education and transfer to a four-year college or university. The AA provides two years of general education coursework while allowing students to begin focused study in fields such as business, English, and the social sciences. Students can complete the first two years of coursework toward a bachelor’s degree while satisfying the requirements for the Associate of Arts degree.
Students who pursue the Associate of Arts degree at GBC develop essential skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking. Through coursework that emphasizes analysis, interpretation, and evaluation, students gain a deeper understanding of both academic disciplines and themselves. GBC provides challenging, engaging liberal arts courses in a supportive environment led by faculty who are dedicated to student success and excellence in teaching.
