Late Enrollment and Excessive Absences
Late Enrollment and Excessive Absences
Students may register during the late enrollment period with permission from the instructor and/or dean. Students who enroll late may miss assignments, as well as important information regarding course goals, grading policies, and class expectations. Late enrollment does not excuse missed work or exempt students from class, withdrawal, or refund policies.
Regular participation is expected in all classes. Unexcused absences that exceed the number of course credit hours are considered excessive. For example, this equals two hours of absence in a two-credit course, three hours in a three-credit course, and so on.
An instructor may drop a student for excessive unexcused absences or lack of participation. Students dropped for this reason are not eligible for a refund. Instructors have sole discretion to excuse absences, assign makeup work, or apply grading penalties as outlined in the course syllabus. Students are expected to follow the attendance policy established by each instructor.
