Mental Wellness Resources at GBC

What is Mental Wellness?

The World Health Organization provides a mental wellness definition: "A state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community."

BetterMynd Teletherapy

BetterMynd provides enrolled GBC students, 18 and older, with at least 3 free 1-1 telehealth counseling sessions with a licensed, insured counselor, and 1 wellbeing workshop, to help them cope with the mental health challenges they may be facing.

How GBC Students Access BetterMynd

  1. Fill out GBC Eligibility and Consent form
  2. Create a BetterMynd login.
  3. Complete a short questionnaire.
  4. Choose a counselor and set up a session or workshop!

Wellbeing Workshops are one hour group workshops live on Zoom, led by mental health experts in the BetterMynd counselor network. See topics of upcoming workshop.

LivingWorks Start

Online suicide prevention skills to learn anytime, anywhere. The FREE 90-minute online training teaches a powerful four-step model to keep someone safe from suicide, and provides the chance to practice with impactful simulations.

Normally $39.95 per enrollment, GBC students, employees and alumni can register for FREE online Suicide Prevention Training with LivingWorks Start. Email gail.rappa@gbcnv.edu to receive an invite link for LivingWorks Start for FREE.
