Computer Setup & Help


It is your responsibility to have a computer which is working and compatible with WebCampus. We are here to help you. If you have a question regarding WebCampus, try this helpful guide.
If you are having trouble with Webcampus, it is probably because you are not using the right browser or don't have a browser plug-in.

Recommended Browsers

It is recommended that you use Chrome. Firefox & Safari are also compatible. There have been multiple reports about issues with Internet Explorer.

Portable Browsers

If you are using computers in a public library or otherwise using computers where the above suggested browsers might not be available, here is some good news. You can now put Firefox or Chrome on a USB drive and use it wherever you go. Below are the hyperlinks for portable Firefox and Chrome browsers.

Required Browser Plug-ins

To use all the features of WebCampus, it is required that you download all the plug-ins necessary for your computer. Below is the list of plug-ins. Click the corresponding hyperlink to go to its website to download.

  • Adobe Flash: The majority of the web videos will be in flash.
  • Adobe Reader: Adobe Reader is required to read PDF files.
  • Java: Java is a free program that makes it possible for many communication features to work effectively. For example, Chat applets work on the Java platform. Without Java, Chat applications will not work in Canvas.
