Standing and Ad Hoc Committees
The standing and ad hoc
committees of Faculty Senate are constructed according to the wishes of the full Senate. Although
Senate members are polled as to their preferences and voluntarily serve, committee membership is
appointed at the beginning of each academic year at the discretion of the Faculty Senate Chair.
Service on a Faculty Senate committee is a component of academic faculty workload.

Baccalaureate Degreee Committees
The select Baccalaureate Degree Programs of Great Basin College do not come under the definition of Faculty Senate Committees. However, the duties of the programs correlate to the governing functions of the Senate and, therefore, committee reports are heard and required actions taken accordingly by the body. Committee assignments are a cooperative effort between Academic Faculty and the Vice President for Academic Affairs and consist of volunteers and appointees.
