Great Basin College - Vice President Of Finance and Operations

I am pleased to announce that Colonel (Retired) John Evans will join Great Basin College as Vice President Finance and Operations, effective May 1.

John brings over 22 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army, where he held various leadership positions focused on managing large organizations, overseeing financial budgets, and instituting effective and efficient processes.

His extensive experience in strategic planning, resource allocation, and talent management will be invaluable as we continue to advance GBC's mission.

In his role as VPFO, John will provide strategic leadership and oversight for GBC's financial operations, information technology, and facilities management. His role is critical in ensuring the fiscal health of our institution and supporting our commitment to providing quality education to our students.

John and his wife, Becky, have recently settled in Elko, returning to Becky's hometown. They are proud parents to four children. John enjoys golfing, skiing, playing basketball, and coaching his children's sports teams.

Please join me in welcoming John to the GBC community. Faculty and staff are invited to stop by the Berg Hall conference room on Friday, May 2, between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. for refreshments and conversation as we welcome John to the GBC team. Let's also show our support for Mental Health Awareness Month by participating in the "Be Seen in Green" initiative. Wear your GBC green to promote mental well-being and foster a sense of community.
