Planned Giving

In planned giving, benefits to the donor may be immediate, while the actual transfer of assets may be deferred.

We know that your primary interest is making a gift that will benefit Great Basin College students and programs. Careful thought and consideration should be given to planning your charitable gifts. We always welcome an outright cash gift to meet your philanthropic goals, however, we also recognize that different people have different financial concerns and an outright gift may not be the best choice. Planned gifts are normally arranged in consultation with a donor’s estate or financial planners. We are happy to talk with you and your advisors to arrange a gift that will align with your giving needs.

The easiest way to make a bequest to the Great Basin College Foundation is through your will or living trust. You can list a specific dollar amount, a particular asset, such as securities or real estate, leave a percentage of your estate, or the residual of your estate, after providing for loved ones.

Two of the most common types of bequests are shown as examples below:

Specific Amount of Asset: I give, devise, and bequeath to the Great Basin College Foundation, the sum of $_____ [or a description of the specific asset] for its general purposes.

Remainder of Estate: I give, devise, and bequeath to the Great Basin College Foundation, all [or state the fraction or percentage] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, for its general purposes.
